The Department of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, is seeking a BC/BE Vascular Neurologist with interest in telestroke, for a position at the Assistant Professor level in the Cerebrovascular Disease Section. Washington University/ Barnes-Jewish Hospital is a Joint-Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center (one of only two in the St. Louis area), and one of the highest volume centers in the country. The center, with seven vascular neurologist, six neurointensivists, four endovascular surgeons, and five vascular neurosurgeons, is a highly collaborative cross-disciplinary team.
This position primarily entails evaluating and treating acute stroke patients at remote hospitals via real-time telephonic or televideo consultation. Prior experience and/or sub-specialty training is welcomed. Inpatient and outpatient stroke neurology practice opportunities are also part of the position. Interest in stroke network practice implementation, quality-improvement or clinical/translational research is encouraged.
The Department of Neurology employs over 100 faculty and offers neurological care in all subspecialties.
