Clinical Health Psychologist (Pain Management)

Washington University Pain Center is seeking an experienced Clinical Health Psychologist to practice in an academic outpatient hospital pain management office setting.  As part of a multi-disciplinary team of pain management professionals, the patient care you provide will include assessment of patients' psychological needs, formation of individual treatment plans and conducting individual and group therapy modalities.  You will also have the opportunity to participate in the academic mission; teaching fellows, residents and medical students.  The Pain Center’s faculty are national leaders in research; the center provides a rich environment for applicants to develop their research-based interests along with clinical teaching.   A faculty appointment is possible; the level will depend on credentials and experience.

   

Washington University Pain Center is a multidisciplinary center that combines basic research, clinical research, clinical pain management and education in an organized, interactive group of dedicated researchers and clinicians.  The center is committed to alleviating human suffering from pain and aims to be the foremost center in the nation for the advancement of pain science. Advances in our understanding and our therapies will come from collaboration involving clinicians, basic scientists and clinical researchers.   At the Pain Center, our cross-disciplinary approach quickly translates new knowledge into an improved ability to care for people.

 


 

Qualified candidates will have a Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited college, university or school of professional psychology and eligible for licensure in Missouri.  

Preferred candidates will have experience working with patients with chronic pain conditions.
